Thomas test: behavior in conflict.
Ago

Everyone knows the expression, expressed by Socrates in the 5th century BC, that in a dispute, truth is born. If this statement is applied to the present time, then it can be paraphrased as how truth is born in a discussion or in a dialogue, but not infrequently such dialogues lead to conflicts. How to behave correctly in conflict situations in order to achieve your goals with low losses?

In psychology, there are five main types of human behavior in conflict situations: rivalry, cooperation, compromise, avoidance and adaptation. Each of these behaviors has both pros and cons. In the early 1970s. Ralph Kilmann and Kenneth Thomas, Ph.D. professors of management at the University of Pittsburgh, have developed a method for measuring the severity of five basic types of behavior in interpersonal conflict.

On our website is translated into Russian and adapted by N.V. Grishina this technique for the post-Soviet space. The technique has a convenient form of a questionnaire test and includes 30 pairs of statements. In each pair, you must choose the option that best suits your views. As a result, after passing the Thomas-Kilmann test, you will find out to which conflict resolution strategy your psychotype is predisposed and what the likelihood is that you will win or lose in the conflict. At the same time, do not forget that with any test result - positive or negative for you - you can learn to manage conflicts. The main thing is your desire!

P.S. The only way to gain an advantage in an argument is to dodge it. (Dale Carnegie)
